Christmas 2009
Scored on the goodies, too; my first pair of honest-to-god jammies since, probably, 1973 or so. I truly am middle-aged.
We are very lucky, indeed.

Slacking...
That said, we're managing to get by. The sleep issue is slowly starting to resolve itself, and we're starting to put our lives and our house back together (but very slowly).
The little guy was born 09/20/2009. Good numbers, no? Either way, we're thrilled to have him here. He's been great to have around the house, and we can't believe how lucky we feel to have him. It's going to be an interesting journey for all of us.

I have a real sickness…
Just perusing eBay and dreaming, when I came across this.
I love this car!
I know it must have cost a small fortune to get it into this condition. I sure wish my Impala was this nice…

Prokudin-Gorskii’s Color Photos of Russia, 1907-1915
Photos: Prokudin-Gorskii’s Color Photos of Russia, 1907-1915 | Newsweek International | Newsweek.com
I had no idea that color photography even existed over 100 years ago. I’m always surprised to see any color photos from as early as the late 1930s. The photos in the link above show a pre-Revolutionary Russia, and provide a fascinating glimpse into a time and place that has long since disappeared. I’m assuming the vast majority of the architecture still exists.
The photos are so much richer than I would have expected to see.
Beautiful.

Something Wicked this way comes…
The wife and I caught the matinee showing of Wicked at The Paramount theater this afternoon.
In a word: Amazing
The only thing I knew about the show was that it had something to do with the Wicked Witch of the West from the movie, The Wizard of Oz, which I’ll admit to never having completely seen.
No matter, the show was fantastic; great stages, lighting, costumes, but the best part were the performances. The songs were very literate and melodic, and the leads had the most amazing voices. Individually they were great, but when they sang with each other, well… It’s really hard to convey in words how good they were. I’ve never heard performers more locked in to each than what I saw today.
Chandra Lee Schwartz played Glinda (The Good Witch from Oz) and Donna Vivino played Elphaba (The Wicked Witch). They are not to be missed.
If this show comes to your town, it’s a must see.
